Episode_IV:_A_New_Hope. Unfortunately in 1977 many people didn't realize the 1927 depiction of a robot, but movies & stories tend to build upon what was previously out there.

Battlestar_Galactica_(1978_TV_series) with the BSG
2004_TV_series provided an expanded perspective of the overall storyline. Thus,
Ronald_D._Moore was able to build upon & expand the original story foundation that was established by,
Glen_A._Larson.
