In the future it might be forbidden to want to be free from the $Y$TEM. Freedom of independent thoughts could be phased out. A world of human drones can ultimately be integrated into a Borg like world with a hive_mind. Only a small percentage of elite people would benefit from such a world totalitarian structure. Then ultimately, AI could take over and manage everything. That's what happens if humans give up or are forced into an AI Technocracy.
