Alone in the Wilderness

Some people live on the edge of the wilderness, so getting out there isn't a problem. However, some people go into the wilderness for fun and adventure. Knowing what you are getting into and being properly prepared is essential. Otherwise, it can become a life and death struggle with tragic results.

Woniya-Thibeault certainly has interesting wilderness survival stories to tell.

Of course there are various examples of how people can survive in the wilderness.

Jarbidge,_Nevada is so small and remote, that one doesn't even have to go into the wilderness, because its all around there.

Last winter a few people in the Colorado wilderness died-trying-to-live-off-the-grid. Apparently, they were OK last summer and fall, but once winter arrived, things got a lot tougher for them.

Ohio_City,_Colorado is a small and very remote place, but people needing help could have tried to get there.

It's possible that they just didn't properly prepare for mountainous winter conditions.

Did they read or watch The_StandThe_Postman or The_Road? Any of those stories could have gotten them concerned about civilization and wanting to avoid it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stand_(2020_miniseries)

However, they still should have had a contingency plan to occasionally get supplies or help if desired. At a certain point, were they just too stubborn to get to Gunnison,_Colorado and would rather die in the winter, than return to civilization?

That's life and death in the+wilderness.
